There really isn't one perfect bathing schedule for every dog.
Some dogs could seemingly stay clean forever. Others step outside for approximately three minutes and somehow come back looking like they've been on a wilderness expedition.
A lot depends on their coat, skin, lifestyle and what they've been getting up to.
SO... WHEN IS IT BATH TIME? 🫧
At our house with two Cocker Spaniels and their super thick coats, we wash them both approx every 10 days. It's not a strict bath calendar but we wash them when they need it. Sometimes the answer is pretty obvious... def after swim days, they smell, they're muddy, they've rolled in something we'd rather not identify 😂
But your dog doesn't necessarily need a bath just because a certain number of days or weeks have passed.
CAN YOU BATHE THEM TOO MUCH? 🚿
Potentially, yes. Bathing very frequently, particularly with products that aren't made for dogs, can strip away natural oils and leave their skin or coat feeling dry.
That's why what you wash them with matters too.
